A true cross country machine offering C level performance in the EN-B category with real life B level safety for any pilot looking for the best this category can deliver!
Packed with technology, no effort was spared to give the Nestra Light the advantage that makes it top of its Class:
TRUE 2.5 liner – the only wing in the B category to date!
Lightweight – starting from 4.35[Kg] including standard risers.
6.0 aspect ratio with impressive passive safety!
Only 215m. of lines – less than new generation EN-C 2-liners!
Kevlar / Aramid competition lines – stable in their length throughout their lifespan. No periodical trimming needed!
APCO’s embedded hook up points for the cleanest, most aerodynamic connection between line and canopy.
Risers, including C steering, supported only by ball bearing pulleys for amazing smoothness.
Leading the New generation of EN-B wings, the Nestra Light has a Hybrid 3/2 Line construction.
The center 2/3 of the wing has 3 rows.
The last 1/3 of the wing is a 2 liner.
Looking closely, you will notice a small but imperative difference between the Nestra Light and the other 2.5 liners on the market.
The Nestra Light is unique in that it has only 3 hook up points on the center and only 2 hook up points at the last third of the wing.
Unlike Nestra Light, all other 2.5 liners (B and C category) have an additional hook up point either at the 3 line area representing a D line and/or an additional hook up point on the 2 line area representing a C line.
Other wings may be referred to as 2.5 liners, but in reality they are not.
All bottom lines on the Nestra Light are unsheathed Aramid/Kevlar.
No periodical trimming needed (adding or subtracting any loops) as kevlar lines are stable in their length throughout their lifespan. Attached to the risers with Apco’s unique V-links making a perfect integration.
The Nestra Light has a dramatically low line consumption (only 215m for M size) which is less than most EN-C 2 liners on the market – this is due to the TRUE 2.5 line layout, introduced for the first time by Apco on the Nestra Light!

Durable Light Weight
As the name suggests the Nestra Light has a lightweight construction.
27 [Gr]cloth was used for the bottom and all the secondary ribs.
The top surface is divided, Standard Apco 40 [Gr/m2] long lasting double siliconised cloth on the L/E and the rest is 33 [Gr/m2] for additional weight savings.
No compromise on Apco’s legendary durability was made and the result is the optimum between weight and durability!
Real Air Safety
#TryBeforeYouBuy and you will experience what we mean!
Solid yet communicative, the Nestra Light is confidence inspiring in its behaviour.
It will let any pilot push one step more than he allowed himself until now and the result will be new personal bests with every flight.
Cutting Edge Handling
Enjoy direct precision steering and World Class Apco Refinement in a beautifully balanced wing.
With the aid of the Dyneema brake shrinkers, the handling is direct and precise with light linear brake pressure up to the 90% mark where it becomes stone hard indicating the stall point.
The Risers are a true masterpiece, equipped with C steering handles that are operated solely on Ball Bearing Pulleys, it is effortless to use and will become second nature quickly to those coming up from lower category.
The Line to riser interface is with Apco unique V-Links, light and strong they are like pieces of jewellery at the end of your lines.
A true masterpiece of engineering, it will impress any pilot with its capabilities, regardless if he is climbing up from an A Class glider, or coming down from C/D Categories, searching for more safety.

What makes the Nestra Light soo light, but yet so durable?
Without compromising on durability or safety, the Nestra is made from carefully chosen materials, to reduce weight. The top surface L/E remains the same bombproof apco double siliconised cloth, while areas that do not suffer from use / wear and tear, such as the bottom surface, are now much lighter. This translates into better launch, handling and safety characteristics.
Updated low drag trailing edge tensioners keep the trailing edge clean, increases lift and turn efficiency while reducing drag
Butt Holes 2 is the second generation of our original Butt Holes – exit points for debris from inside the wing
BT2 is essentially small holes located at strategic points of the trailing edge to allow sand and debris to exit from inside the wing with no pilot action.

Nestra Riser – Attention to Detail – Computerised sewing ensures a perfect stitch every time
The glider is made from tear resistant Ripstop Nylon cloth, which is P.U. coated to zero porosity and then siliconized to give the fabric high resistance to the elements. Different cloth is used for the top, bottom and ribs due to their different functions.
The lines are unsheathed superaramid with protection against UV, wear and abrasion. The bottom section of the brake lines is made of Dyneema because of its better mechanical properties. The Karabiners/rectangular loops that attach the lines to the risers are made of stainless steel.

My first flight was with a prototype of the Apco Nestra at the Dead Sea.
I even flew slightly overloaded and yet the performance of the wing was already impressive.
The Nestra flew remarkably dynamically and efficiently and gave me the feeling of hanging under a higher classified wing.
The steering is absolutely precise and it feels like a razor blade cutting through the air.
I flew with some C and even D category gliders and I felt the Nestra was on par with those gliders.
I’m used to hanging on a few lines from my Enzo, but seeing a similar picture on an En-B wing is truly revolutionary.

Pilot Comment :: Nestra Light :: Marlon Jonat
First time I went to Apco Aviation manufacture, the Nestra was waiting for me to flying it. Once I opened on the takeoff, I knew that I would fall in love with it. Nestra is a high B class glider, with the best Apco’s Tech. Easy during take off, and even more for flying. The pressure is perfect on the brakes, what I was looking for in a glider to fly hours thermalling – gliding and don’t finish with your arms tired. The Nestra surprised me with the glide ratio, flying parallel to a C glider, but the best is the combination using the speed bar and rear risers control, when you feel the high speed! Nestra is the new future for the High B gliders!
I feel the need, the need for speed!

Who is the Nestra for?
The Nestra Light is aimed at pilots who fly 50+ hours per year, or want to step up from a lower B without sacrificing safety and peace of mind.
If I break the upper cascade line, how can it be repaired?
APCO’s proprietary embedded hook up points were introduced to the market in the1990’s and carry a lifetime warranty!
Thousands of gliders later, the technology has proven its superiority both in aerodynamics and durability.
The embedded hook up points top lines are short and while on the ground, protected by the surface of the canopy, so if any entanglement with the ground happens, it is usually with the middle or bottom lines.
Time has proven that our “lifetime warranty” is justified and the number of times we have received requests for replacement hook up points can be counted on one hand!!
However, incase of damage to the embedded hook up points (can happen only in case of an accident – collision with tree or similar), APCO will supply any authorized service center a pre-prepared hook up point and the replacement is an easy unstitching/stitching in of the new hook up point.
At only 595 grams, it is one of the lighter bags on the market in this class.
Large enough to hold a standard paraglider with a lighter harness and other essentials.
The APP profile (shark nose) profile with lighter materials, helps this wing to have an easy balanced inflation, The wing will rise easily and controllably overhead without a tendency to overshoot or lift the pilot if braked overhead.
LANDING
Simple, predictable approach and flair to a standstill.
THERMALLING
The Nestra Light will easily settle in a constant angle of bank turn in a thermal, requiring very little input once centred, resulting in a superior climb rate, which will have you at the top of the gaggle in no time.
PERFORMANCE
Best Glide will be achieved at 1/3 speed bar, use the C steering when pushing on bar will grant you new levels of confidence when crossing between thermals.
PILOT FEEDBACK
Simple to understand is how to summarise the Nestra Light. The wing is both reassuring and precise in its pilot feedback. It is a capable wing for weekend pilots wanting to fly side by side with the hottest flagship 2 liners.
CONSTRUCTION
According to APCO’s legendary tradition for durability – the top surface is APCO’s double siliconised cloth. Bottom surface and internal parts from lightweight materials to save weight without compromising on durability.
